Recommended System Sizes / Locker Capacity

System size/package capacity recommendations based on a number of variables

Historical package volume is best source if available - factoring for expected growth
Rule of Thumb … # packages received per day on average x 1.5 = Total # lockers
Compartment sizing important consideration based on “types” of incoming packages

If no history is available – use 3:1 (3 apartments:1 locker) to calculate system size
Example:   300 apartment community = 100 locker compartment system

FAQs re: New Element Series Lockers
ELECTRICAL
Does an Element system installed outdoors always require hardwiring for electrical? Or are there situations where the Element system could use a typical plug for electrical service?
The answer to these questions depends on how protected the outdoor Element locker system will be.
If the location you choose has any exposure to water from rain or snow – then the locker system should be installed using the hardwired electrical application shown in the Element Site Prep manual.
However, if the system location is very protected from water,  like a garage or some other nearly enclosed facility, then a typical electrical plug may be used like those specified for indoor systems.

AWNINGS
Are awnings required for the Element locker system if I place the lockers under a canopy?
As long as the Element system is protected by a canopy or some type of cover that keeps rain/snow from impacting it directly – you do not need to order the awnings for extra protection.
With that said, if the area is not lighted very well, you may still want to recommend the awning so there is adequate light for staff, carriers and residents to use the system at any time.

Do the lights go off at certain times of the day or night?
The lights in the awnings are set to operate continuously.   The LED lights use minimal electricity and have a very long life,
This approach helps ensure the users will always have a good, well-lit experience and can clearly see the location of the locker system as well as which compartment holds their package.

How long will the LED lights operate before the bulbs need to be replaced?
The LED lightbulbs have an average life span of 50,000 hours providing nearly six (6) years of continuous operation.

Can the awnings for Element be ordered without lights?
Because Element is designed to operate in outdoor settings – the awnings will always come with lighting.
The lights can be turned off thru the Maintenance Menu if the owner of the property does not want them on.

INSTALLATION AVAILABILITY
When will the Element system be in production and ready for delivery/installation?
All new component parts required for Element system production will be received and put through the quality inspection process by the first week of September.
Orders are being taken and scheduled for late September and into October now.
We will likely be implementing typical lead times and normal scheduling process for Element system orders by mid-October.
Until then, please contact your RSM for the next available ship date prior to finalizing your installation plan with your customer.
